A little long, but please bare with me. I really need your help
My 21 year old boyfriend of 2 years is such an idiot. For the past 8 months, I’ve been living and working in Germany. When it came to purchasing a christmas present to send to me, he couldn’t have made bigger mistakes if he tried.
Firstly, he bought two packets, one of each flavour of my favourite lollies back home in Australia. He also bought me an extremely beautiful and expensive journal with an incredible artistic marble art piece incorporating a violet butterfly. He ordered this along with a “Love Letters From Italy Boxed Notecards and Envelopes Set” which is presented in a gorgeous plastic covered envelope, both ordered from Italy. Pity Butterflies aren’t my favourite, but the notecards and envelopes have a great artbox design.
He then purchased a DVD of the first movie we saw together on our first date and which I haven’t seen since but loved and another two additional DVDs. These being a movie which I really wanted to see before leaving for Germany (which I can’t pick up in stores here) and another which was a two disc documentary set on the history of ballet. Ballet is the newest of my many interests and passions and I’ve just started out.
Speaking of Ballet, he got me a complete guide to all the technical terms in the discipline and a beautiful calender containing pictures from The Royal Australian Ballet.
He purchased two German lottery tickets for me via a friend of his who lives near me here, bought a nice printed art work card and finished it all of by containing everything in a pink patterned box with a nice ribbon.
He then sent it all to me in the mail just in time for christmas.
Even though all of it is very beautiful, very high quality and quite well related to my interests in life, I am disappointed because at the end of the day it is a collection of things which I wouldn’t purchase for myself if I was to go out to the shops. Because of this, I’m left with all these things which I’ve never really wanted and will just take up unwanted space. He had the chance to make sure that any presents he gave me were things which I would buy by myself or which I wanted. Instead he got me this collection of useless and definitely inappropriate items.
I’m extremely disappointed and spent a fair amount of time crying after I received them. I was completely beside myself.
It just proves that some men can’t present the right gift for their girlfriends. I feel like he doesn’t know me at all and am disapointed because I really thought he knew everything about me, including what I might like without me even having to tell him.
I’m so angry with him. What should I do next? How can I deal with this bitter disappointment and negative feelings for him at the moment?

My boyfriend failed to get me the right gifts for christmas. How can I deal with my anger & frustration?
First off, I would TRULY appreciate it if someone gave me a thorough answer.
Okay so, after a very long night of debating which phone to get, I’m trying to narrow it down to one! I’ve so far knocked out Blackberry Bold, Blackberry Curve, LG Ally, Motorola Devour, and Droid 2. The only two left are the Droid X and Droid Incredible. I’m having such a hard time deciding! I feel like my brain is about to blow up. I loved that the Droid 2 has a keyboard, but otherwise the Droid X dominates it in about everything else. Also, from all the reviews, it seems like the Droid 2′s keyboard is pretty lame anyway… I just liked the sleekness of the Motorola Devour. I like the material it was made out of. Otherwise, the phone sucks compared to the others. I really had my sights set on the Blackberry Curve for a while. Maybe it was just because it happened to be the only phone with any real color (smoky violet)… I tried the phone out yesterday, though. I hate the keyboard, quite honestly. Even though I have extremely small hands, it feels a bit cramped.
SO, that means I’m down to Droid Incredible and Droid X…
I like that the Droid Incredible has more vibrant colors and is a bit smaller than the Droid X. I like that it uses HTC Sense.
I think the only major drawback with the Droid X, is that it’s a bit… um manly? I’m a sixteen year old girl and a girly one at that. I also love getting the most out of something, though. I’m very technologically advanced. I’m usually the one who helps my older brothers with gadgets. I’m just so stumped right now. Also, the Droid X is a bit HUGE! I haven’t tried this out at the store, but I kind of doubt that the phone will even fit in my jean pockets… That’s probably why it’s marketed as the mans phone, if you know what I mean. : Oh, I’m also scared about the screen getting scratched very easily. It’s bound to happen, don’t you think?
Anyway, could you just help me compare it a bit more? It’s past two in the morning. I’m about to fall asleep… I would really like to finally buy my new phone tomorrow. I’ve been debating which phone to get for over a week now.
P.S.- The price doesn’t matter. They’re both $200 dollars at Verizon.
I’m sorry for the longish answer. I hope someone tries to help me…
